.) New England Patriots – The last remaining one-loss team in the NFL and they’re second half schedule is none too difficult.
.) Baltimore Ravens – Very much a force to be reckoned with and keeping under the radar.
.) Indianapolis Colts – The Colts are hurting at just about every offensive position. Well, except quarterback and when Peyton Manning is back there then all seems alright.
.) Pittsburgh Steelers – Defense really didn’t look as strong as they thought against the Saints. While it wasn’t a bad performance, it did show a lot of things that need fixing.
.) New York Jets – How’d that big ol’ goose egg even happen?
.) Atlanta Falcons – Big stretch of games coming up for the Falcons after their bye week and they’ll be able to prove a lot by even winning three of the next five.
.) New York Giants – This looks like such a different (and better) team then the one that began the season.
.) Tennessee Titans – A loss to lowly San Diego didn’t look good, and then they lost Kenny Britt. But now they’ve got Randy Moss and it’s going to be interesting to see if he is able to break out of the slump he’s had with two teams already this season.
.) New Orleans Saints – Overly impressive against the Steelers showing that the defense in place is one that brings in championships. And they did it with a number of missing starters and key back-ups.
.) Green Bay Packers – Up until shutting out the Jets, many wondered if Green Bay was headed totally downhill. Where’d that defense come from?
.) Kansas City Chiefs – Still playing very well and reeling in more believers, but a huge test against a dominating (as of late) Raiders’ team comes this weekend.
.) Philadelphia Eagles – So Michael Vick gets his chance to take down the lowly Cowboys this weekend. Think Andy Reid will go back to Kolb if Vick loses?
.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers – This team is surprising a lot of people and a victory over the Falcons on Sunday will show that they are for real and not just a dream in the mind of their young head coach and quarterback.
.) Miami Dolphins – Chad Henne finally looked like he was supposed to all season in leading Miami to a come from behind victory over the Bengals. Now the challenge is doing it again and again.
.) Houston Texans – That was just pure ugly on Monday night. By far the worst they’ve (meaning the Houston defense) looked all season.
.) Chicago Bears – They’re sitting alright at 4-3 but looking far less like the team that shot out of the cannon at the start of the season.
.) Oakland Raiders – Who would have thunk it? Seriously, don’t tell me you did.
.) Washington Redskins – Guess how many excuses Mike Shanahan can come up with for benching Donovan McNabb and win a prize. Really? For Rex Grossman?
.) Jacksonville Jaguars – Who else has a love/hate relationship with this team?
.) St. Louis Rams – Sam Bradford is going to take this team places and you can tell things are exciting in St. Louis again. Steven Jackson is willing to play hurt and one-handed…haven’t seen that kind of fire in him in years.
.) Seattle Seahawks – While they’ve surprised many this season and pulled out some big wins, I’m not entirely sure they can do the same against a visiting Giants’ team and Eli Manning.
.) Arizona Cardinals – Quarterbacks, they have none.
.) San Diego Chargers – So it was one victory that looked decent. Still doesn’t impress me after the way they have played for the majority of this season so far.
.) Minnesota Vikings – Can’t do much of anything now can they? The season is a complete wash and Brad Childress is likely gone at the end of the season as is Brett Favre. Congratulations Brett, you came back and cost the man his job.
.) Cleveland Browns – They had a bye week and now must face the Patriots. One has to wonder what the Man-genius has up his sleeve this week.
.) Cincinnati Bengals – No-one expected to be bad, let alone “this” bad. It’s amazing how completely horrible they continue to look week in and week out.
.) Detroit Lions – Improving week by week and now Matthew Stafford is back. I’m going out on a limb here and saying this team finishes at or very close to .500.
.) Denver Broncos – They have no defense whatsoever the offense does nothing but make mistakes. It’s going to be a long second half of the season.
.) San Francisco 49ers – Troy Smith looks as if he may have finally found the starting spot he was looking for in the NFL.
.) Dallas Cowboys – Tony Romo it meant the offense was bound to suffer, but that still doesn’t explain why the defense looked so ridiculously bad against the Jaguars. Say what you want Jerry Jones, Wade Philips is not lasting the season if this keeps up.
.) Carolina Panthers – They played the Saints tight earlier this season, but if New Orleans plays like they did against the Steelers then Matt Moore is in trouble.
.) Buffalo Bills – Congratulations, you have the worst record in the league so here’s a far too often injured linebacker.
