The Brittany Nation Foundation Against Drunk Driving is an organization that is doing amazing things. They are the ultimate example of how someone can take a horribly tragic, life altering, negative situation, and try and turn it into a positive thing . . . in order to try and stop the same tragedy from afflicting someone else.
The Brittany Nation Foundation Against Drunk Driving is based right here in the Tampa Bay area, and was founded by Richard Nation. Richard Nation was the father of a beautiful young woman, Brittany Nation, whose life was tragically cut short while she was a passenger in a car driven by a drunk driver. For a lot of families who find themselves in a tragic situation like this, they could simply fall into a long, ongoing, deep depression of mourning. However, Richard and his family decided to take their unfortunate tragedy and form The Brittany Nation Foundation Against Drunk Driving in order to help bring awareness to this epidemic of drunk driving. And to hopefully save others from the very same tragedy that took their own daughter away from them.
The Brittany Nation Foundation Against Drunk Driving works hard to inform the public of breaking news of DUI’s, FREE Ride services, and the reality of what drinking and driving can do to you and the long deep reaching effects on everyone involved. They also speak in front of today’s youth warning them of the dangers of drunk driving. Once a year the foundation holds a Designated Driver Event to get the attention to those in the Tampa Bay area’s music community that reach’s many people whom frequent Lounge’s.
The Brittany Nation Foundation Against Drunk Driving also has worked along side, and helps promote another program called “Tow to Go.” Formed in 1998, Tow to Go is a program that is the result of a partnership between AAA and Budweiser. On selected dates, you can call Tow to Go’s hotline if you are too intoxicated to drive home. They will not only drive you home, but they will tow your car to your house as well. This service is 100% free, and available to both members and nonmembers of AAA. The Tow to Go program covers the following areas: Throughout all of Florida, Metro Atlanta & Savannah Georgia, and Metro Nashville Tennessee.
Harlie’s Nite Club is located at 7020 49th Street North in Pinellas Park. Their phone number is 727-498-6500. Please come out and show your support for this great cause.
