Anoop Desai, sixth place finisher in ‘American Idol’ season 8, is making the rounds promoting his current EP All Is Fair and his upcoming release, Zero: The Mixtape.
Desai’s latest interview was with TheCelebrityCafe.com, who quoted the singer about what he wants people to know about his album:
Everyone needs to listen to the album. That’s my goal. It’s from my own experiences. I want the listener to say, “He’s singing to me.”
Desai put All Is Fair out on an Independent label, and it is available in digital outlets like iTunes and Amazon.com. The first single, “My Name,” was written by Desai and Brandon Rogers. Rogers is also an ‘American Idol’ alum, having placed twelfth in season 6. “My Name” was released on March 23.
Desai’s new project, Zero: The Mixtape, is a collaboration with Atlanta-based musicians, writers and producers including DJ Trauma. The North Carolina native plans to make Zero downloadable for free on a variety of websites next year.
The North Carolina native also appeared last week on BET’s ‘The Mo’Nique Show.’
