Woe to you human equivalent aliens, Ashtar Command is coming to save our souls, and they’re bringing plenty of Kool Aid.

Ashtar Command, the long time collaborative effort of the music team of Chris Holmes and Brian Liesegang have announced an up-coming album in 2011 and released a video and documentary for their latest song, “Gravity.”
The team, who have known one another since college, have both gone on to amazing careers in the music business, Holmes has worked with The Smashing Pumpkins, Felix Da Housecat, P. Diddy and Joshua Radin. He has produced, DJ’ed and this year was invited personally to open Coachella for Sir Paul McCartney. Liesegang worked on the Grammy winning albums Broken and The Downward Spiral as a member of Nine Inch Nails, as well as being co-founder of the two man band Filter, along with Richard Patrick.
In 1994, Holmes interviewed members of the Heaven’s Gate cult, who later famously committed suicide. That interview, along with a UFO-themed radio show hosted by Holmes during their college days and Unarian Society movies were the inspiration for Ashtar Command.
The documentary that goes along with the video for “Gravity” is controversial and witty in reflecting the concepts expressed in the Heaven’s Gate interviews. Apparently Ashtar Command, described as an Intergalactic UN, is made of billions of spaceships and cosmic civilizations, and Heaven is a very real place, but you must ride there in a spaceship–a really big spaceship, like the size of several football fields.
In order to gain entry onto the spaceship you must, of course, become a member of the Ashtar Command Cosmic Ascension Program–give up all of your possessions… family, friends. Move into a small house with many people, some clothed, some unfortunately not.
It’s in this place that you’ll find enlightenment, you’ll be open to receiving all that Holmes and Liesegang are offering as your leaders. UFOs are real. They’ll be coming to New Jersey soon.
Already being condemned for their blasphemous ways, Ashtar Command, no shrinking violets from controversy, have added a bit more fuel to the fire by broadcasting their message, and their mission, to save the soul of humanity from the Greys, the Reptoids and the world of commercial music, internationally–with moments of full frontal nudity. I’m sure Christians the world over are damning their own eyes for looking, but looking they are. And they are not amused.
But I, for one–and very possibly the only one… am amused. It tickles my gallows humor; people who die ridiculously should be celebrated, in some morbid fashion. Now their lives have real value. Thank you Ashtar, for your enlightenment.
So off we go resplendent starlings, the universe is your playground. I don’t, however, recommend drinking the Kool Aid.
All your soul are belong to us.
Make your time.
