Here are some of the best dog trails near Oakland California.
- Redwood Regional: Oakland. On-leash. This trail weaves through the redwoods. Come here to walk your dog, BBQ, or picnic. There is also a playground for children and picnic tables. Wear a jacket, as it can get cold.
- Sibley Volcanic Regional Preserve: Oakland. Off-leash. This trail is great for very outdoorsy dogs (and their people). The path here can get quite narrow, and there is an incline.
- The Bulb: Alamaeda. Unsure of leash policy. The albany Bulb is a great place for a stroll with or without dogs. This peninsula used to be a dump, and has been converted into trails and an outdoor ‘art gallery’ with many installations and graffiti-like art. While many people walk their dogs off leash, there are also some hazards to off-leash doggies including fox tails.
- Point Isabel: Richmond. Off-Leash. This is the largest off-leash dog park in the nation! Foofy and Fido will be especially happy here, as long as they’re good off leash.
