High pressure over central Kentucky will build into our region today. Some lake enhanced snow shower activity was noted on radar early Friday morning across portions of the Mohawk Valley and Catskills. A few of these flurries and snow showers may brush portions of the immediate Capital District, however, by mid-morning, all activity should diminish as high pressure becomes the dominant weather maker.
A fast moving system over the upper Midwest will take aim at our region Friday night, and the system’s cold front will pass through the region by early Saturday morning. This will be followed by a chilly area of Canadian high pressure that will build in for the balance of the weekend bringing renewed vigor to the chilly air mass already in place. Saturday will be brisk and chilly as a fresh northwest breeze kicks up.
The new shortened work week starts out fair, but conditions turn soggy toward midweek as another cold front approaches Tuesday morning, and stalls south of our area by Wednesday morning. This will keep conditions rather unsettled through this time frame. Despite the unsettled weather, temperatures look to remain near to slightly above normal for the start of the new work week.
