A fast moving cold front was approaching the Capital Region this morning. The front was still over Michigan and Indiana, but showers in advance of the boundary were moving along at a pretty rapid clip. Clouds will still be prevalent today, despite a few breaks of sunshine. Showers will develop this afternoon and evening as the front passes through the region. A brisk westerly breeze will develop in the wake of the system as high pressure passes by to our south on Thursday.
A second cold front is forecast to make a run at the region late Thursday night and into Friday morning. The passage of this system looks to be associated with some pretty chilly Canadian air, which builds into the region through Saturday. A very chilly night looks to be in store on Friday night, as temperatures may plummet to levels sufficient enough to end the growing season across the area.
Temperatures should begin a slight moderation by the second half of the weekend as a warm front lifts northward, toward the area. This warming of temperatures may also be accompanied by some showers during this time frame as well.
