The 11th season of Dancing With the Stars comes down to tonight’s live two-hour results show.
From a field of twelve, including former Rams quarterback Kurt Warner, the competition has been narrowed down to just three. The finalists are actress Jennifer Grey, actor/rapper Kyle Massey, and former Alaskan first daughter Bristol Palin.
One star and his or her dance partner will be named the winners tonight at 8 p.m. on ABC 30.
With local native Niecy Nash last spring and Warner this fall, the show has featured St. Louis stars for two seasons running. Will the show cast another famous local face for its 12th season? We won’t find out for awhile, since Dancing isn’t slated to return until March 2011.
When it does, there may be some changes to the show’s voting process. There has been lots of chatter surrounding Bristol Palin’s success, with accusations that voting is rigged. One man even shot his TV set in frustration with Palin’s moves last week.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the show wants to rework the voting system, but is mindful that the show’s popularity is due in part to its interactive voting element. Proposed changes would give more weight to the judges’ scores, but no decisions have been announced yet.
As Dancing twirls into the sunset for a few months, Skating With the Stars debuted last night and continues through December 21 on ABC 30.
