Colombian midfielder David Ferreira of FC Dallas won 2010 MLS MVP for leading the team to MLS Cup finals with his creative play and by scoring eight goals and providing 13 assists in the regular season. Ferriera played every game in 2010 and was the most fouled player in the League this season, with 84 suffered. He played 45 minutes in the MLS All-Star Game vs. Manchester United and was named to the 2010 MLS Best XI. For the MVP award, Ferreira beat out runners-up Edson Buddle, 2010 Golden Boot winner Chris Wondolowski, 2010 assist-leader Landon Donovan, and Sebastien Le Toux.
Since joining FC Dallas from Clube Atletico Paranaense of Brazil, overall Ferreira has tallied 16 goals and 20 assists while appearing in all 60 2009 and 2010 regular season games.
Ferreira also contributed one goal and three assists during FCD’s 2010 playoff run, which will conclude Sunday, November 20 at BMO Field in Toronto vs. Colorado Rapids. The MLS Cup final kicks off at 8:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN and Galavision.
