It’s that time of year. All over America, the fragrance of traditional pumpkin pies will soon be wafting over the land. Grab a pie pumpkin and make your pie completely from scratch – it isn’t that difficult, as you will see by the following recipe:
Fresh Pumpkin Pie
- 9 inch pie crust, baked
- 1 1/2 cups cooked pumpkin, whirled in blender til smooth
- 3/4 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup cream
Mix ingredients in blender in order given and pour into crust. Wrap edges of crust in foil to prevent overbrowning, and bake at 450 for 10 min. Reduce heat to 350 and bake another 40 to 45 min.
