Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Rankings for Week 16

by foam cage

Andre Johnson has carried many fantasy football teams into their championship game. However, he is limited this week and will be a game-time decision. Who is out there to help you win your fantasy football championship if Johnson misses the game? Here are my rankings for wide receivers in Week 16 of the fantasy football season.

1 Vincent Jackson – I have picked up and dropped Vincent Jackson many times this fantasy football season. Now that he has finally returned, with a five catch, 112 yard, three touchdown effort against San Francisco, he is no longer available on the waiver wire. He looks better than ever and will put up monster yards against Cincinnati this weekend.

2 Greg Jennings – Greg Jennings went from being a questionable start to a must-start when Green Bay announced Aaron Rodgers was going to be back under center this weekend. In the two games without Rodgers, Jennings caught eight balls for 82 yards. In the three games before that, he caught 18 balls for 393 yards and five touchdowns.

3 Roddy White – Roddy White, the best fantasy football wide receiver in PPR leagues this season, made some tweets about the Saints and how they are not as good as they think they are. Last time they played, White found the end zone but was held to 69 yards. He had almost the exact same numbers last week in Seattle. In PPR leagues, he is a must start though.

4 Calvin Johnson – Calvin Johnson is coming off his biggest game of the season, grabbing ten receptions for 152 yards to help his Lions upset Tampa Bay. He has been limited this week in practice but expect him to start and expect him to put up big numbers against Miami’s young corners.

5 Reggie Wayne – Austin Collie returned last week, led the team in receptions and yards, and then was lost for the season to another concussion. That is bad news for Collie but good news for Reggie Wayne’s fantasy football owners. Three weeks ago, Wayne hit 200 yards against Dallas. He won’t do that this week but should be big anyway against Oakland.

6 DeSean Jackson – DeSean Jackson is a stud. He is not as good in PPR leagues as other receivers but in standard scoring leagues, he is a monster. He will get three receptions but turn them into 100-yard games thanks to his athleticism. Minnesota is not very good and Jackson will get his numbers.

7 Andre Johnson – This could chance is Andre Johnson misses this week. Last year, I lost in my championship game because Steven Jackson was held out at the last minute. I can’t let that happen this year with Andre Johnson in my lineup. Keep your ears open because, if he plays, he is a must start.

8 Marques Colston – Roddy White tweeted that New Orleans is not really that good. That will help Drew Brees and Marques Colston want to prove him wrong. Colston has 28 receptions for 410 yards and five touchdowns since Week 11. Expect him to play hard this week for the Saints.

9 Larry Fitzgerald – It has been hard to be a Larry Fitzgerald owner this fantasy football season. He is a star wide receiver but his quarterbacks are anything but stars. He broke 100-yards for the second time this season in Week 15 and now gets a Dallas defense that gives up big plays. He is risky, but the upside is there.

10 Mike Williams – This is Tampa Bay’s Mike Williams (who plays across the field from Seattle’s Mike Williams this week). Seattle has a horrible defense and Williams is coming off a six catch, 96 yard performance with one touchdown. Seattle gives up 259 yards a game passing and Williams will get a lot of that love.
