The most basic start to any makeup look is flawless skin. Even the most beautiful super model sometimes has problems with her complexion though. The trick is to know how to cover any imperfections while highlighting your favorite features.
The beginnig to a great makeup look and better skin down the line is a moisterizer. A good gentle moisterizer that I recommend is Cetophil. It is color and frangrance free and great for sensitive skin. Give your face a good coating of whichever moisterizer you choose and give it a few minutes to soak in.
The next step is to apply a foundation. There are endless varieties and shades and textures to suit any need. What I have found to be most versatile are the newer mineral foundations. The coverage can be very sheer or can be built up for a more full cover, and also contain SPF. A great brand that I have really fallen in love with is the Colorscience brand. You can order online, or it is also available locally at Radient Day Spa in Huntsville, Alabama.
After foundation, concealer will cover up any left over blemish. There are many formulations of this also, and this is really up to you as to what coverage you want. There are cream formulas, and compact formulas, and stick formulas. No matter what brand and formula you choose, it is best to pick a shade one to two shades lighter than your actual skin tone. This will help cover darkness and provide a better consistency. If you have dark undereye circles, a yellow based concealer will help cover the darkness. If you have redness or pimples a green based concealer will work best. A brush is a must to blend together and ensure you don’t have any lines.
The very last step to a gorgeous face is to set everything with powder. This will set everything and ensure that everything stays exactly where it is supposed to all day long.
