No. Reiki always works for the Highest Good and can never harm. At times there may be an increase in the feeling of energy. This intensification may seem greater and cause a client to perceive that the Reiki is “too much.” However, after a few minutes of Reiki, clients usually feel much less pain and discomfort than they did before treatment began. More often Reiki removes the pain or discomfort.
