The issues of Sarah Palin’s new book, America By Heart has Gawker required by court to remove the excerpts before the actual release of the book. Harper Collins pursued this citing ‘infringements’ on copyright laws and the courts agreed.
While we love the folks over at Gawker, it is important to note not all is lost on this battle, in fact, nothing is really lost if you know where to look. The Google Cache of the previous pages still have all the write ups as it once was and the original story can be easily accessed, even after the removal today.
The idea that this wasn’t fair usage is a case for the courts. A point that one will post something on the Internet and it is never lost is a fact. This leads us all to be reminded that sometimes you need to be careful what you write (but as we know Gawker really has little to worry about here.)
Take a minute to check out the Google Cache and the previous story by looking here. Or just check it out on Google.com yourself.
