Looking to find the perfect gift for the wine lover in your life – but running out of time? What better than the gift of learning, with a gift certificate to some of the wonderful wine classes and events in Boston:
Boston Wine School: At both of my trips to the Boston Wine School, I always met people who were there because friends had bought them gift certificates. Both times I was thinking, “I need to meet those friends”. You can buy a couple class for 2 for $100, or buy the more budget friendly wine book by Jonathan Alsop (Boston Wine School Founder) for $20 (wet their palate for the place). For more info, check out: http://www.bostonwineschool.com/.
Boston Wine Expo: January 22 – 23, 2010 kicks of the iconic Boston Wine Expo (I am so excited!). The tickets may be selling fast, but this trip to Seaport could give your wine lover the opportunity to experience up to 400 wines in the Grand Tastings (~$95). If you are looking for a more budget-friendly gift, give them a trip to a wine seminar for ~$30. You can find out more at: http://bostonwineexpo2011.eventbrite.com/.
Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE): Is your wine lover into learning about wine, and perhaps more. A trip to the BCAE is a great gift idea, and you can buy any denomination you choose to. My wine and tapas class a few months ago was over $50, but included a 3-course dinner (which I learned how to make) and plenty of wines to go with it. If you spend $50 on a gift certificate now, BCAE will give you $10 for yourself. For more info, check out: http://bostoncae.augusoft.net/index.cfm?method=GiftCard.SendGiftCard/.
The holidays don’t have to be stressful when you shop for wine gifts from the comfort of your home/computer! So look for fun gift certificates – sure to please any wine lover.
