If you are like many of the rest of us out there, the holiday season tends to cause some damage on the wallet and budget plans. This could make the thoughts of visiting the Walt Disney World Resorts just a dream. However, I just cannot stay away and have to check out the holiday décor the Disney Imagineers have worked so hard on putting together.
As a result of my Disney addiction and some low finances I have taken some adventures that cost very little and were still enjoyable. Follow me on my latest budget friendly adventure.
I started my day off at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort where I explored the lobby and grounds of the resort. There are so many different trees, décor and cheerful music playing throughout the resort it definitely got me in the holiday spirit. And sad to say, no visit to the BoardWalk is complete without a stop at the BoardWalk Bakery for a sampling of chocolate brownies. Generally there is a sample tray featuring the days special and if not, you can sometimes ask for a sample.
Next I took a ride on the Friendship Boats over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Not to go into the park, because that would really blow the budget today, but to check out the holiday décor at the entrance to the park. Since I spoiled my diet with the fudge, I decided to walk back to the BoardWalk. I continued past the BoardWalk over the bridge to Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. There I checked out the displays in the lobbies and holiday décor located throughout the rest of the resort.
Once I had completed my walk through of Yacht and Beach Club, I hopped on a bus to Downtown Disney, where I continued my window shopping. I walked in and out of shops looking and making a wish list for when I come back to complete my Christmas shopping. I of course had to stop in at the Christmas store and see the new holiday decorations for this year. I have to admit, not matter what time of year, this is one of my favorite stores to walk through.
Once I had made my way from one end of Downtown Disney to another, I made my way back to the busses. I headed back to the BoardWalk Resort where I decided it was time to go home. On my way home I decided it would be a great idea to come back in the evening to check out the holiday décor all lit up at night. I should have thought of that before I left.
So, it is possible to go to Disney and check out the holiday décor with very little out of pocket spent. I only spent money on a bottle of water and some fudge to take home. So the next time you are in the area of the Walt Disney World Resorts see how little you can spend in one day. It is a challenge, but possible and still enjoyable.
Check back for my next inexpensive adventure through the Walt Disney World Resorts.
