Jennifer Hudson, who lost 80 pounds during the past 12 months, will enjoy a Christmas feast, but won’t overdo it.
“I’m not going to cook. I’m actually having a huge Christmas family dinner celebration,” Hudson told Extra Dec. 23, 2010. “They’re doing Weight Watchers, too. All they have to do is come and look good.”
THINNER THAN EVER AFTER GIVING BIRTH
Jennifer, 29, slimmed down from a size 16 to a size 4, thanks to portion control, Weight Watchers and daily workouts. Amazingly, Hudson was motivated to become skinner than ever after giving birth to son David Otunga Jr. in August 2009.
“After being pregnant for months, saying I want my body back, I did something different: I actually gained a new body!” Jennifer gushes.
As a result of her efforts, Hudson made Fitness magazine’s Best Celebrity Bodies list for 2010.
Jennifer, who never worked out before, now exercises up to five days a week doing an hour of cardio and another hour of resistance training, as well as four sets of push-ups, leg squats and sit-ups every day.
‘I WANT TO BE A FITNESS ROLE MODEL’
Hudson attributes her incredible weight loss to overhauling her eating habits, so she’s no longer starving herself or binging. Instead, she eats what she wants (within limits) and has adjusted her attitude toward dieting so it’s a long-term solution, rather than a short-term goal.
“[Weight Watchers] has taught me good health habits,” says Hudson. “I can have food I haven’t had in years [like ice cream]. I can have whatever I want.”
Hudson, who has struggled with weight all her life, hopes to be able to inspire others with her weight loss.
“I hope to set a good example for others,” she says. “I would like to see many more do the same and conquer what they’ve been trying to conquer forever, because it’s possible!”
