Kid Rock is set to perform at the Country Music Awards, being broadcast on ABC on November 10, 2010, according to a November 4, 2010 press release from ABC. The 44th Annual CMA Awards is being hosted by country superstars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. The 44th Annual CMA Awards” airs live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, on Wednesday, November 10 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
Kid Rock is nominated for Musical Event of the Year for “Don’t You See,” his duet with Zac Brown Band. The multi -genre music star has a career total of two CMA Award nominations, having also been nominated in 2003 for Vocal Event of the Year for “Picture,” his duet with Sheryl Crow. Kid Rock’s new album, Born Free, will be in-stores on November 16.
Kid Rock is joining previously announced performers, including: Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Reba, Blake Shelton, George Strait, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Jason Aldean with Kelly Clarkson; and Zac Brown Band with Alan Jackson. Gwyneth Paltrow will make her Country Music singing debut, performing with Vince Gill.
Top CMA nominee Miranda Lambert will perform with Sheryl Crow in a tribute to Loretta Lynn’s 50th Anniversary as a recording artist.
Sara Evans has been added to the CMA lineup as a presenter. Evans won the CMA Music Video of the Year Award in 2001 for “Born to Fly,” and is currently recording a new album, scheduled for an early 2011 release.
Sara Evans joins previously announced presenters including: The Band Perry, Luke Bryan, Easton Corbin, Little Big Town, Martina McBride, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Jerrod Niemann, Kellie Pickler, LeAnn Rimes, Darius Rucker, Chris Young NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon, ABC television star JoAnna Garcia (“Better With You”) and ABC television star Ty Pennington (“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”). Rodney Atkins will present Awards in pre-telecast ceremonies.
“The 44th Annual CMA Awards” is a production of the Country Music Association. Robert Deaton is the executive producer, Paul Miller is the director and David Wild is the writer. The special will be shot in high definition and broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC’s selected HDTV format, with 5.1 channel surround sound.
