It was a perfect day for the Annual Manasquan Turkey Trot held on Saturday, November 20, 2010. The sun was shining bright with near ideal temperatures around 50 at the 11 AM start of the race and just a little wind coming out of the south. The 2000 plus runners made their way around the Boro in a large loop and sprinted to9 a finish by the park and fields. Prior t9o the 5-mile race a one-mile race was held which attracted a spirited crowd of several hundred participants. Many of the runners sported appropriate clothing for the occasion.

The men’s race was extremely close with three runners finishing essentially together within a second of each other. Ken Walsh of Point Pleasant in a time of 27:58 followed closely behind by Kyle Price of Milltown in 27:59 and Andrew Capizzi of Paramus also in 27:59. For the women it was Allison Linnell of Colts Neck in 30:07 followed by Diane DeOliviera of Brick in 30:25 and Lis Namath of Wall in 32:02.
In the age groups for age 10 and under it was Ken Anzano of Toms River in 38:42 and Madison Lyons of Manasquan in 49:00. For age 11- 13 it was Danny Salardino of Old Bridge in 32:10 and Jackie Hall of Freehold in 37:00. For 14 – 17 it Liam Wall of Manasquan in 29:19 and Abagail Burlington of Brielle in 32:23. In 18 – 24 it was Dan Lenehan of Wall in 21:28 and Maggie Gousman of Bradley Beach in 33:30. In 25 – 29 it was James Doyle of Bradley Beach in 30:16 and Christine Arsego of Point Pleasant Beach in 33:55. In 30 – 34 it was Rob Ballon of South River in 29:27 and Shauna Hughes of Hoboken in 34:50. In 35 – 39 it was Mohamed Toualeb of of Manasquan in 31:10 and Amy Bernstein of East Windsor in 33:10. In 40 – 44 it was Eric Davis of Edison in 30:06 and Deb Strof of Hoboken in 34:03. In 45 – 49 it was Mike Rose of Newton in 30:20 and Kathy Kropke of Avon in 35:01. In 50 – 59 it was Pat Ford of Neptune City in 29:25 and Kathy Pringle of Ocean in 30:34. In 60 – 69 it was Harry Nolan of Middletown in 31:33 and Ruth Wendel of Point Pleasant in 42:51. In 70 – 79 it was Olie Nelson of farmingdale in 43:40. In 80 plus it was Dolores Papirman of Whiting in 1:01. First Manasquan Residents were Liam Wall and Laura Donnelly.
