The Chicago Wolves of the AHL had the lead, 2-1, as they and the Milwaukee Admirals headed into the third period on Tuesday night. However, the Admirals were not out of it and they came back, tying the game, forcing overtime and then heading into a shootout. At that point the Admirals were able to put the cap on the game and come away with a 3-2 shootout victory.
Right winger Darren Haydar and center Jared Ross both had good games for the Wolves. The two of them got the goals for the Wolves during the regulation periods. Nigel Dawes got the one goal the Wolves had during the shootout.
In goal for the Wolves was Peter Mannino. He also had a very good game, despite the score. He turned away 30 goals during the regulation time. He blocked just a single goal from Milwaukee during the shootout.
The Wolves have a little bit of time off for the holidays. They return to their home ice on Monday, December 27, and they face the Grand Rapids Griffins. The game time is set for 7 p.m.
