About Como Trails Club, Inc
Como Trails Club Inc. is the brainchild and sweat equity of Tony Neaves and friends. An avid skier and racer, Tony has been looking for an area near town where he could train for his Nordic and skate skiing events. To do that, he needed suitable terrain that consistently held enough snow where he could develop trails. After much research, theLake Como and Little Rock Creek areas were found to be very suitable. The areas have an existing basic road system and a web of older overgrown roads and trails that are being systematically cleared and cleaned up for added trail miles.
For trail development and maintenance, he and his friends needed help, hence the club. Club membership dues support trail maintenance, fuel and repair costs of grooming and clearing equipment. Tony Neaves, Annie Creighton, Randy Leavell and other members are donating hours of their time and their own tools, personal snowmobiles and grooming equipment to clear trails and groom them in the winter. The Club looks forward to growing in membership and hopes to purchase a Club owned 4 stroke snowmobile.
