The weekends are usually reserved for going out with friends and having a good time, but Old Chicago’s is one of those places where you can not only have a good time with friends but you can do that any day of the week there. There are two locations for this bar/ restaurant: the first is located downtown off of College, near Mountain Avenue and the second location is off Harmony Road and Timberline. Obviously, both have the same setup but there’s something special about the downtown location that puts a smile on my face.
Some people say it’s more of a bar than restaurant but it’s a little of both. Walking in, the sight of hardwood floors and wood paneling makes it a home-y feel. There’s not a lot of advertised drink specials or loud music but it’s a great place to have a drink and some food and relax. It’s a great place to meet new people and meet up with old friends to have dinner or have a drink. The restaurant menu has a little bit of everything: pizza, Stromboli, burgers, salads and the ever popular (my absolute fave) Italian nachos.
The drink menu consists of the usual beer, wine, soft drinks, mixed drinks, and many more but it’s all depending your palate. One of the best things about Old Chicago’s, aka Old C’s as most people refer to it, is what the place turns into on the weekends, especially Sundays. It could be termed as “Sunday Fun-day” due to the amount of people that dress up in their favorite sports team garb and post up at the bar or a table in the bar and watch the festivities commence on the big screen televisions. Any night of the week, head down to have a fun time at Old Chicago’s, it’s worth it.
