Old Edwards Inn and Spa can get you in the mood for the holidays with a free mini-seminar December 16 called “Comfort Living for the Holidays” presented the Hummingbird Lounge. Special guest Christine Eisner, lifestyle coach and author of “Comfort Living,” will present a fireside mini-seminar from 1:30-3 p.m.
Christine says, “Comfort Living is about experiences, not appearances. A home should not look like a page out of a magazine. It should be an authentic and evolving expression of who you really are and what you value in life.”
Debby Maugans Nakos, author of the popular cookbook, “Small-Batch Baking,” will also participate with a special sneak tasting of chocolate samples from her upcoming book, “Small-Batch Baking for Chocolate Lovers” set to be released in February. Debby shows how cooking for one or two can be fun, easy delicious and beautiful. The Old Edwards Inn Lobby will be filled with the sweet smell of chocolate and excitement from 3:30 to 4:30 pm. In addition to samples, guests will enjoy free champagne and recipes.
Cyrano’s Bookshop will host a book signing for both authors from 5 pm to 6:30 pm. For more information call 828-526-8008 or visit www.oldedwardsinn.com/ComfortLiving.
This event is part of daily festive events for the Comfort and Joy Celebration going on now through the holidays. Guests enjoy free wine tasting Saturdays, ornament decorating at Rib Shack, food demonstrations, holiday garden walks and more.
About Christine Eisner
With 30 years of international experience in design, Christine Eisner is building a new kind of brand, Comfort Living, about experiences, not appearances. Personal… accessible… comfortable. A designer and consultant, Christine has shared her unique creative vision with thousands of people of all ages. In her critically-acclaimed book, “Comfort Living: A Back-to-Basics Guide to a More Balanced Lifestyle,” she introduces a totally new approach, with its own language for talking about and creating quality of life, with useful words to describe physical environments, like campfires, bridges, treasures and echoes. Combining objects, routines, people and animals into centers of energy, or campfires, she peels back the layers of living. She coined the phrase “lifestyle design” and has put her practical tools to work for singles, newlyweds, long-time marrieds, families, newly-singles and empty-nesters.
