The breaking headline that has people in Boston talking this morning is about a package exploding Thursday at the Swiss Embassy in Rome, Italy, the Associated Press reports.
Early reports indicate the explosion took place as soon as an embassy staffer opened an envelope and was then injured and taken to the hospital.
Someone answering the phone at the embassy, according to the AP, would not confirm the reports by the ANSA and Apcom news agencies.
Tensions and fears have been growing throughout Europe that something like this would happen during the holidays after a suicide bombing in Sweden and the fear of an attack on a European city like the deadly shooting spree in Mumbai, India.
It was just Tuesday when officials uncovered a suspicious package with wires and powder at a subway stop in Rome. That package later turned out to be nothing.
