But who can blame them? If they said every word of their titles in conversation—they’d never get anything done.

Executive Director of the DDS, Jane Nesbit, sent lists of agencies, residences and workshops who serve the developmentally disabled in St. Clair and Madison Counties and explained the categories.
There are about 24 Community Intergraded Living Arrangement (CILA) homes in Belleville, Swansea, Fairview Heights and O’Fallon, Ill.
East St. Louis and Troy have one CILA home. Godfrey has two and Mascoutah, Ill. has three homes.
St. Clair and Madison County CILA homes include 13 in Alton, one in both Collinsville and Edwardsville and three in Wood River, Ill. There are two in Highland, Ill.
They all range from two to eight in how many residents live in these various places.
Home Based Support Services (HBSS) have day programs like the Human Service Center in Red Bud and the Human Support Services in Waterloo. And they offer about the same services.
St. Clair and Madison Counties have two in Belleville, Ill. St. Clair Associated Vocational Enterprise (SAVE); 3001 Save Rd., Belleville, Ill. (618-234-1992) serves St. Clair County and serves adults only.
Illinois Center for Autism, 548 S. Ruby Lane, Fairview Heights, Ill. (618-398-7500), Trinity Services, 606 S. Jefferson, Mascoutah, Ill. (618-566-4200), Community LINK, 1665 N. 4th St. Breese, Ill. (618) 526-8800 serves adults, children and St. Clair and Madison Counties.
New Opportunities, Inc., 1510 W. 7th St., Granite City (618-452-8165) serves adults. William BeDell ARC, 400 S. Main, Wood River, Ill. (618-251-2175) serves both children and adults. Both serve Madison County only.
Hoyleton Youth and Family Services, 350 North St., Hoyleton, Ill. (618-493-7382) is in Washington County but serves St. Clair and Madison Counties.
There are 12 Home Based Support Services (HBSS) Service Facilitation Agencies in St. Clair and Madison Counties. All but one, Hazel Bland Promise Center Family Support Unit, 6400 W. Main Suite A, Belleville, Ill. (618-394-9310) who serves St. Clair only, as of May 2010, were able to offer services to county residents. Hazel Bland Promise Center Family Support Unit was full.
