Music has been an integral part of Pasadena Presbyterian Church since its founding as Pasadena’s first church in 1875. In the past several decades, PPC’s Friends of Music have sponsored concerts for the community and provided space for musicians from throughout the world.
The 2010-2011 season, Music that Feeds the Soul, offers classical, jazz, Scottish, and organ music along with the traditional Advent season “Candlelight and Carols” and Good Friday devotional concerts. All concerts are free, but donations are appreciated to offset costs.
The mission of the series is “By nurturing the mind and spirit, celebrating the creative arts and engaging in local and global mission, we proclaim hope.”
In addition to the formal concert series, Pasadena Presbyterian Church Friends of Music provide a weekly lunch break with their Music at Noon concerts. Music at Noon concerts are on Wednesdays from 12:10-12:40 p.m. and feature a variety of artists and styles. Those who desire can purchase a lunch for a $6 donation following the concert.
