The build for Team Rey vs. Team Del Rio
Does anyone feel like this ‘Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match’ has been thrown together in the last week?
Team Rey vs. Team Del Rio Match
Now this may appear to be hypocritical, but it’s to make a point. Not every match on this PPV needs the build or the hype, this is the ‘traditional’ match on the card with 10 capable wrestlers in one match that has been featured on almost every Survivor Series. This match just has to deliver the goods with high paced wrestling action, possibly some swerves, and hustle from everyone involved.
There also could be a real story coming out of this match for the ‘Road to Wrestlemania’, which WWE desperatly needs at the moment. Look for Alberto Del Rio to use his cunning ways and couple Cross Arm Breakers to squeek out of this match as the ‘sole survivor’. You can watch a video of the two opposing Survivor Series teams colliding in an over-the-top rop battle royal from this past Friday’s Smackdown. Check out this photo gallary of Del Rio under the lucha mask of Dos Caras and his MMA fights before he made it to WWE.
Edge ‘abducting’ Paul Bearer and tormenting him on Smackdown
The segments this week on Smackdown where Edge picked on a tied-up and gagged Paul Bearer, were underwhelming. Throwing a soccer ball near someone’s head ? It was a tell-tale sign of the creative limits put on WWE programming with TV-PG rating. It felt like WWE wrote themselves into a hole with an angle that really could not be executed without something exceptionally violent. The most damaging part about this dissappointing story was that it did not help this Sunday’s World Title match between Kane and Edge. This Examiner sees the Big Red Machine retaining the gold at Survivor Series.
Shaemus vs. John Morrison
This could be a surprising show stealer on the under card of this PPV. These two battled it out in an amazing falls-count anywhere match earlier this year on RAW. It really put over how atheltically talented Morrison truly is and Sheamus’s abilitiy to adapt to different styles. Look for a lot of back and forth action, with Morrison flying all around the ring, but it will be the Celtic Warrior walking out with the ‘W’.
