A business in the Dallas suburb of Richardson was held up by three armed robbers.
It happened Tuesday night, at an adult novelty shop known as Zone D’ Erotica, located at 318 South Central Expressway, when three male subjects entered the store, approached the counter, brandished a gun, hopped over the counter, and demanded the store attendant, identified as Tera Mitchell, to hand over cash from the register as well as her belongings.
Initially, as the men entered the shop (while at the same time posing as customers), the attendant became wary and apprehensive of them, since they were clad in heavy jackets and gloves, even if it was not any cold that night. Then, the next thing she knew was that her suspicions became true.
One of the robbers even told the attendant “If you move, no one will have a Merry Christmas.”
In response, the clerk begged the robbers not to harm her and take whatever they want. She even thought of her two children throughout the ordeal.
During the holdup, two customers were also inside the store, and they, too, were held up by the robbers as they demanded their belongings. Afterward, they compelled the hostages into the shop’s back room, where they commanded them to lay on the ground. That was when the clerk had a terrible feeling that the robbers might shoot her and the two customers execution style, but luckily that didn’t happen.
The holdup lasted for almost 20 minutes. Besides taking hostages and demanding their belongings, police say they also ransacked the entire store in search of any additional valuables they could seize.
While fleeing, the bandits seized the store’s money, wallets, purses, and a watch.
Thankfully, none of the hostages were physically harmed.
Several images of the robbery have been caught by the shop’s surveillance cameras.
According to Richardson police, the suspects may be linked to two other store robberies, which occurred in the past few weeks.
In one case, a Gran Dolar y Mas shop, located on Valley View Lane, was held up December 10. In another case, a Metro PCS store was help up last week, and the store’s surveillance camera captured the incident. The men who were seen in the video appeared to be the same as the Richardson adult novelty store robbers.
The men are still at large.
