When it comes to baking, you don’t think,”What beer or wine cooler can I put into this?”.You think more of “What will compliment this course?”. The same goes for wine coolers also.
Well if done in the right portions a seasonal beer, or wine cooler can add another dimension to what you are baking, whether it be a cake, bread, cookie, etc…you catch the drift.
In North East Oklahoma, one of the easiest seasonal beers to find on the commercial level that is readily available is actually from the Blue Moon Brewing Company(you can find them online to learn more, about their offerings). ( it has been found in places like the local grocer- pending on where you are in the USA, or it has also been seen at places like super-walmart)This happens to be the best that has been found making beer breads, etc… They carry quiet a selection to compliment most beer bread, or enhance any beer batter recipes, like for onion rings and shrimp, etc…The best of their beers for baking, actually comes out in the fall, it is called Harvest Moon Pumpkin Ale, and it goes great in a wheat beer bread.(it really is yummy)
Now on the flipside of this is the wine cooler. With all the flavors & brands that are out there, it is really hard to choose a particular brand or flavor. If you are doing a cookie, cake or bread for the over 21 set, and you are using a wine cooler, depending on the time of year will determine the flavors offered.(because it varies where people live. You may be able to get a flavor in one place, and not get it in another.)
In the summer you might go for something with a strawberry flavor base vs. the fall, where it might be a plain margarita flavor. This also applies to using a wine cooler as an addition to bread. Of course the more unique the flavor going in, the more fabulous the result in the end.
No matter your personal taste in seasonal beer or wine coolers, and if you are a beer bread person, or a cake & cookie person, there is always something out there to satisfy your tastebuds or introduce you to a new flavor, that you may grow to enjoy. Cut your creativity loose and go on a culinary journey, and see what you come up with.
