ACE schedules from Stockton to California’s Great America
Coordinating an ACE (Altamont Commuter Express) train trip from the Central Valley to California’s Great America in the Santa Clara valley this past summer was made easy with ACE website schedules. A typical departure from Stockton included several charming stops in Lathrop/Manteca, Tracy, Vasco Road, Livermore, Pleasanton, and Fremont. On weekdays, approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes after a trip begins in Stockton, ACE trains arrived at the Great America ACE rail station.

The premier wine tasting event in Stockton included a sampling of wine from twenty-five wineries in California. Vineyards from the areas of Monterey County, Napa Valley, Sonoma Valley, and San Joaquin Valley participated in the sunset event. Ticket prices included delicious hors d’oeuvres from at least fifteen area businesses and a special 25th year commemorative wineglass for each guest.
Purchase TNT Fireworks in support of local non-profits (View slide show)
At least 23 non-profit organizations within the City of Stockton acquired permits to sell legal Safe and Sane TNT Fireworks at various street locations to raise funds for their organizations. The fireworks sale presented a festive way for the community to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday within the city.
Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library: Make a splash, read! (View slide show)
The Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library system encouraged residents to participate in its free Summer Reading Program by enrolling readers at all branches. Readers that completed their reading cards were entered into raffles and drawings for prizes.

Hosted by the Downtown Stockton Alliance and called a premier all-American celebration in Downtown Stockton, approximately thirty-nine barbeque teams marinated, smoked, or grilled their best recipes and answered questions from visitors while preparing dishes for the judging tables.

Creativity, fashion, and karaoke come together at Panda Girlz Party Company—an on-site birthday party boutique for girl’s ages 4 to 14 years-old. Panda Girlz creates eleven alluring party themes in a personally decorated boutique abundant with glitter and glamour suited for any type of party experience.
The 12th Annual Water Safety Carnival at Kennedy Community Pool (View slide show)
The Kennedy Community Center pool hosted its free 12th Annual Water Safety Carnival on the pool deck in July 2010. San Joaquin County Human Services Agency lifeguards provided lessons in rescue and water safety with a focus on how to keep kids safe around water.

When Stockton temperatures reached the highest highs this year, pools and parks in the City provided a refreshing day trip idea. Residents grabbed beach towels and picnic baskets for a fun visit to Kennedy Pool, Oak Pool, or Sousa Pool.
The California State Fair means affordable fun
The California State Fair definitely meant affordable fun as Fair sponsor Save Mart Supermarkets offered “Big Fun” at reduced prices. Save Mart Supermarkets in Stockton as well as Modesto and Sacramento sold discount general admission tickets surcharge free this past summer.

The California State Fair provided nineteen days of affordable fun this past summer. The State Fair, together with sponsors and vendors, offered “Big Fun” and big discounts for fair visitors to enjoy including discounted fair ticket, ride tickets and reduced food prices.
