If you love furniture shopping you will be delighted today for sure. Home and Living has Kris Fuchs here to talk about SUITE New York.
Q.: Kris thanks for visiting. Talk to us about who you are and what you do please.
K.: My name is Kris Fuchs, SUITE New York’s co-principal with my business partner and close friend of 30 years, Maria Sepulveda. We proudly own and operate SUITE New York. I handle the PR & Marketing within the company and straddle the day-to-day business as an owner. My role as PR & Marketing Director varies from editorial pitches to the media to events to meeting potential corporate clients, architects and interior designers.
Q.: How would you describe Suite New York?
K.: I would describe SUITE New York as a one-stop shop and showroom experience. We are open to the trade and to retail clients. Our collection of furniture has been finely curated to work in many applications, within many styles, whether modern minimalism or traditional shaker.
” …whether they are furnishing a beach house in the Hamptons, a barn-style home in Vermont, a chalet in Aspen or a glass house in Michigan.”
Q.: Can you explain the process of where your goods come from and how they are marketed?
K.: Our collection of furniture is predominantly European, a large portion being Danish and Italian. We travel to the trade shows to see and hand select these collections. A vast portion of our collection is made up of iconic designs, which are prestigious to both carry and market.
Q.: What is on the floor at your showroom now that you particularly like?
K.: Our showroom floor is culled and laid out by our acclaimed creative director / interior designer, Chris Kraig. I happen to fall in love with everything on our showroom floor. That is a very tough question to answer.
Q.: Do you have an environmental mission?
K.: Our environmental mission is simple. Since many of our products are iconic classics, made of excellent quality, they will last for generations. They are not disposable and they retain their value, in some cases increasing in value. SUITE New York’s collection is primarily made up of European manufacturers who have attained important environmental certifications such
Q.: What are some of the reasons that homeowners should think about doing business with you?
K.: SUITE New York prides itself on how we attend to our clients needs with superlative customer service. We have a strong repeat homeowner following. We often ask ourselves if we are a furniture showroom or in the customer service business. Our diverse collection also offers the homeowner many options, whether they are furnishing a beach house in the Hamptons, a barn-style home in Vermont, a chalet in Aspen or a glass house in Michigan.
Q.: Is the economy affecting your business?
K.: The economic market has had an up-turn in the past 6 months. Our client’s projects, last year put on hold, are now moving forward. We are working on tight budgets but have been able to capture the business. We are also proud that we have sustained our company during the economic turbulence, when a lot of peer showrooms have closed. SUITE New York is a mixture of luxury items and clients know the value of what they are purchasing from us. Heirloom designs with extraordinary service and accountability.
Q.: Where are customers going to find the products and do you have a website for more information? Is there also a blog?
K.: Our customers can find us in over 100 magazines from Elle Decor to Vogue, as well as numerous regional and trade magazines, newspapers and important design blogs.
We are especially proud of our website, which is filled with a massive number product images, allowing the client to see all available options. The website features a Virtual Binder tool, which allows clients to easily save their favorite designs and email their “binder” to us for pricing, lead times and availability. This binder feature is also environmentally conscious, as we use less paper. We also have a toll-free number for out of town clients.
Q.: Is there anything else you would like to tell Home and Living Readers?
K.: SUITE New York delivers across the US, Canada and Puerto Rico, white glove, door to door. We will send samples of fabrics, wood options and catalogs to assist in anyway possible with your project. SUITE New York’s new showroom, located in the recently coined “NoMad” district, is proving an inspiration to both our residential and A&D clients. With over 7,000 square feet of floor space, we are able to showcase a larger percentage of our furniture, lighting and textile collection than ever before.
