Making both friends and foes along the way Dorothy must embark on a perilous journey to the Emerald City to see the great and powerful Wizard of Oz. Can the wizard help Dorothy return home to Kansas or is the power to go home inside Dorothy all along?
Here’s a little Wizard of Oz trivia for you:
*Many of the scenes that featured The Wicked Witch of the West played by Margaret Hamilton were cut from the movie because the producers thought her performances were to scary for young audiences.
* Burt Lahr’s Cowardly Lion costume weighed 90 lbs and Jack Haley’s Tin Man costume was so stiff that he had to lean against a board to relax.
*The gown of Good Witch Glinda was first used by actress Jeanette MacDonald in the 1936 movie San Farancisco.
* Judy garlands portrayal of Dorothy was the prototype for MaryAnn on Gilligan’s Island.
