Today, November 11, 2010 is Veteran’s Day, a day set aside in this country to honor our veterans of WWII. But, we honor all of our veterans of all the wars fought for our freedom!
We as citizens of this wonderful free country are indebted to our veterans who have fought for our freedom in any of the wars! Many of these soldiers gave their lives and we ought to feel an honor and pride for all of these men and women who fought so bravely.
The majority of families in this country have members who are veterans and may have lost their lives in battle and this examiner has several family members who are/were veterans of one of the wars.
We are also soldiers in the military service of Jesus Christ Who is our captain!
Heb. 2:10: NKJ “For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.”
As Christians we are veteran soldiers, not in a physical military service but in the service of God. Ever heard of the hymn “Onward Christian Soldiers”? If you have ever endured persecution and hardship for standing up for your beliefs then you are a soldier of Christ!
II Tim. 2:3: “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”
What Timothy is saying is that living the life of a Christian is not easy.
II Tim. 3:12: “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”
Hebrews 11 lists many of the true soldiers of God who died in their battle of faith, suffering many afflictions because of their belief and hope in a future “city.” Believing in the fact that some day they would be part of that Holy City not made with physical hands!
Rev. 21:2-3: ” And “I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”
“And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God [is] with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, [and be] their God.”
You are a veteran of God’s army and a soldier if you are still in a battle for His Word of Truth! Let us all look forward to the great army of Christian Veterans who will help bring in peace and harmony for the real New
World Order at the setting up of the Kingdom of God on this earth!
To all the men and women who have died in battle for our country’s freedom and to those who are still alive and who fought and endured hardships so that we may have the freedom to worship God as we please, we honor you and thank you for your service!
