Voted exclusively by KC Nightlife Examiner readers, here are the Top 5 places to purchase your New Year’s Eve dress in Kansas City:
#1 Nikki Grant Boutique – This was an overwhelming Kansas City favorite. NGB is the brain child of New York stylist Nikki Grant. The boutique was originally started in Queens, NY as In the Box Boutique, but found it’s permanent home in Kansas City: Westport and Power & Light Garment District. As the buyer and owner Nikki Grant, brings her sense of city fashion to the mid-west at affordable prices.
“The clothes I have seen are pretty fab,” says Courtney, loyal reader and Kansas City Relationships Examiner. “Love their free champagne events. Champagne + fashion = win.”
#2 Bella B’s Boutique (Lees Summit) – Another big reader’s choice in Kansas City. The original Kansas City location was opened in October of 2006 by local proprietor and stylist, Brooke Johnson. Alysa Cascio (pictured in slideshow) is the proud owner of the first Bella B’s franchise in Lees Summit. Bella B’s brings Kansas City the latest fashion trends from the coasts and runways, while offering exclusive designer labels at affordable prices.
“Bella B’s in Lees Summit rocks!”, says Marsha – KC Nightlife Examiner reader. “Their window displays just taunt me!”
#3 Express – If you are more of a mall shopper, don’t mind fighting the holiday crowds and don’t require that personal attention, visit one of their five Kansas City locations. Express continues to be a reliable place to find a reasonably priced New Year’s Eve cocktail dress, catering to mainstream 20-something ladies looking for trendy club wear.
#4 Two Chick Blvd – If your New Year’s Eve plans are less than formal, this is where you will find comfortable and trendy fashion. Since there is only one “chick” running things these days, it has become a little less accommodating. You will need to take some time off work during the day to shop, because they are only open one night a week, but if you do you’ll find some great stuff.
#5 Von Mauer – Initially viewed as a Nordstrom copycat, they are finally getting past the negative labels and showing their true colors. If you are willing to pay those prices for quality, Nord points are not enough incentive not to jump ship to Von Mauer. They have a better atmosphere, wider selection, less crowd, improved service and a bigger sales rack.
Don’t forget to enter the contest to win $100 gift card to one of these five shops.
Breaking News: Max Rave is going out of business! You just might find a great deal out there if you are willing to fight for it, but you’d better hurry.
Contest Rules: Open to ladies 21 years or older in the Greater Kansas City area. Gift cards must be picked up from specific shop location, during posted business hours, by recipient on or before Friday, December 31st. No cash value. Comments left on foamcage.com must include name and contact information. Comments left on Facebook or Twitter must be a valid account and may require you “Like” or “Follow” in order to leave a comment. Contest closes 3:00pm CST, December 25, 2010.
