Randy Wright threw two touchdown passes in the first half to lead UC Davis over Sac State in the 2010 Causeway Classic. Poor weather conditions heavily affected play by both teams. Thunder and lightning suspended the game for 47 minutes and Aggie Stadium was forced to evacuate at halftime. The game eventually resumed at 6:30 p.m. and neither offense was able to get in a rhythm during the second half. Sean Kelley eventually scored the winning field goal with 6:34 left in the fourth quarter.
The Causeway Classic has been a historic rivalry dating back to 1954. The Aggies have been victorious in 40 of the 58 meetings between the two schools. In recent years, the outcome has been increasingly more lopsided with Davis winning 15 out of the last 19 contests.
The Aggies concluded the season with a winning record (6-5) and wins in each of the last three games. Next year, the Ags will play at the University of Hawaii on September 24, 2011 in Aloha Stadium.
