For fans like myself who can never seem to get enough pro wrestling entertainment, this past Monday and Tuesday evenings presented back-to-back nights of WWE action on USA Network.
The annual dosage of Monday Night RAW came on the heels of the year’s last Pay-Per-View, Tables, Ladders and Chairs this past Sunday in Houston.
Among the highlights from RAW on this night from Austin, Texas was:
* Randy Orton, Jerry Lawler and John Morrison def. The Miz, Alex Riley and Sheamus. Highlight – Lawler pins The Miz with some “help” from Orton;
Melina defs. Alicia Fox and Eve in a Divas number one contender match. Highlight – Current champ Natalya leaves her ringside seat to go congratualte Melina, only to get a slap in the mush from the face turned heel;
Daniel Bryan w/ The Bella’s def. William Regal. Highlight – After defeating his mentor, the current U.S. Champion is once again fawned over by the Bella Twins;
Santino Marella and Tamina def. Ted Di Biase and Maryse. Highlight – The daughter of WWE HOF’er Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, Tamina does one of his famous dives off the top ring on her opponent;
John Cena def. Dolph Ziggler w/ Vickie Geurrero in his corner. Highlight – Cena defeats the Intercontinental Champion, only to then be attacked while celebrating from none other than CM Punk with a steel chair.
Overall, a good show following the final PPV of the year.
With Melina turning heel again, and a Punk-Cena encounter likely to happen sooner rather than later, we should see some more interesting storylines as we send out 2010 with a bang and welcome in 2011 on MNR.
Editor’s note: SmackDown review to come.
