Due to the ring being totally destroyed, the next match has been delayed. The Elder Toguro takes the opportunity to get into Kuwabara’s head and psychologically intimidate him. Kuwabara knows that he’s outmatched and there’s no way out as Koenma reminds him that he’s just going fly away on his jetpack if he’s forced to fight.
It seems like Kuwabara has some time left, but the younger Toguro manages to carry the ring from the previous stadium over on his back, making the fight come that much sooner.
Hiei wakes up to discover that six hours have passed, but nothing’s changed. Considering how mangled and bloody he was after the fight with Karasu, Kurama’s looking pretty healed. Even his clothes have repaired themselves and removed the bloodstains…weird.
Kuwabara chides Genkai for not showing up, still unaware of what really happened. Kurama suggests that it’s time, but they don’t have a chance to tell him as Kuwabara goes into the ring to face off against the Toguro brother.
Toguro makes the first strike, impaling Kuwabara with his extended fingers. Kuwabara retaliates, unleashing his trial sword and delivering what looks to be a fatal blow. It’s all a ruse as the real Toguro had moved himself under the ring, manipulating his skin to create a giant puppet of himself. When all is said and done, Kuwabara’s strike was really just a papercut. The demon laughs and strikes Kuwabara again.
As Kuwabara’s down, Toguro takes the time to taunt Kuwabara with the truth about what happened to Genkai. Toguro goes into great detail, even making puppets to provide a visual aid. The news hits him like a bag of bricks, and even Yukina and Keiko are thrown for a loop.
While it’s devastating news, it actually manages to fuel Kuwabara’s energy to the point where he’s able to create a force field around himself to protect his body from Toguro’s next attack.
Kuwabara unleashes a new variation of his spirit sword, that launches a barrage of spirit daggers at Toguro. It rips the enemy to shreds, and it seems like Kuwabara has won. However, the pieces re-assemble themselves to the shock of everyone. Toguro tells him that the only way to kill him is to pierce his brain or heart, but since he has the ability to move his organs around, the odds of that are slim to none.
The episode ends as Toguro continues to taunt the terrified Kuwabara, who has no idea how he’s going to get out of this one. With the elder Toguro being pretty much invincible, things aren’t looking good for our hero.
